Tea Time On Mars became the latest winner over fences for Schiaparelli, a day after the chase victory of Enry Iggins at Bangor.
Trained by Sue Gardner and ridden by her daughter Lucy, the eight-year-old Tea Time On Mars won the three-mile handicap chase at Bangor, a qualifier for the Challenger Staying Chase Series. The gelding, bred by D V Gardner and Woodhayes Stud, has now won three times over hurdles and fences.
Schiaparelli’s five-time winner Whatmore also posted a fine performance in defeat on Saturday, garnering some black type when runner-up in the Listed Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle for Henry Daly.
Black type was also picked up by Dunaden’s The Pink’n, who was second in the Listed Intermediate Hurdle at Newbury for Seamus Mullins. The versatile four-year-old won on the flat at Goodwood at two, and has won twice over hurdles in 2020.
