It was a good weekend on the point-to-point field, not just for Overbury stallion Schiaparelli but also for our sponsored rider Alice Stevens.
On Saturday, Salvatore, the prolific seven-year-old son of Schiaparelli, scored his tenth victory between the flags when winning the Men’s Open at Larkhill. Trained by Philip Rowley, he is out of Cash N Credit (Homo Sapien) and was bred by Goldline Stud.
The following day Alice Stevens maintained her unbeaten partnership with Sir Johnny Weatherby’s Red Indian after winning her second race of the season on the eight-year-old at Alnwick.
There was further success for Schiaparelli on Monday when the Gary Moore-trained Benevolentdictator won the 3m2f handicap chase by 14 lengths for owners The Knights of Pleasure. The six-year-old’s dam Kim Fontenail (Kaldounevees) won over hurdles and fences for Bryan Fry, who bred Benevolentdictator.
