Kayf Tara enjoyed a super Saturday when his daughters Rons Dream and Copper Kay landed both Listed races on the card at Cheltenham’s Open Meeting.
Coming home best of a competitive 16-runner field for the Listed Regulatory Finance Solutions Handicap Hurdle, the five-year-old Rons Dream has been a joy for her connections, winning four of her 14 races after being bought for just €2,000 as a foal.
Bred by Peter Clinton, the Peter Bowen-trained Rons Dream is out of Empress Of Light (Emperor Jones) and is a half-sister to the Listed-winning chaser Fistral Beach.
Fellow five-year-old Copper Kay has now won three of her four bumper starts after routing a decent field with her facile win in Cheltenham’s Jockey Club Venues Mares’ Bumper.
Philip Hobbs’s exciting young mare was bred by her owners Aiden Murphy and Alan Peterson from the former Hobbs stable star Presenting Copper, who is also the dam of Copper Kay’s runner-up on Saturday, Which One Is Which.
Kayf Tara’s third winner of the day came at Wetherby when Kayf Blanco prevailed in the two-mile handicap hurdle for trainer and co-owner Graeme McPherson.
