The first foal by record-breaking miler Cityscape was born on Thursday at Conduit Stud. She’s a bay filly, the first foal out of Hunscote Stud’s Royal Applause mare Royal Ffanci, from the immediate family of the Group 1 filly Penkenna Princess. Simon Sweeting describes her as ‘a really good foal. Plenty of bone, a good strong back leg and correct front legs. She’s a hard bay with one white sock.’
Cityscape, who was rated the third best miler in Europe after only Frankel and Excelebration, covered 96 mare in his first season in 2014. Other mares due to foal shortly include:
Bob McCreery’s G2 King’s Stand winner Dominica
Juddmonte’s multiple Stakes winning Valentine Girl
Jockey James Doyle’s six-time Stakes-placed mare Baylini
Ayun, dam of G2 winner Akmal
Emma Balding’s well-bred Stakes-placed mare Casual Glance
Stakes winners Bon Nuit, Mamounia
Abunai, dam of auction record-breaker and Classic prospect Moheet
