A Kayf Tara colt on top again at TBA foal show.
For the second year running, a colt by Britain’s multiple champion National Hunt sire Kayf Tara has been named champion at the TBA National Hunt foal show at Bangor-on-Dee.
The colt was bred by David, Di and Kate Ford of Manley Hall Farm in Cheshire from their sole broodmare, the six-time winner and Grade 2-placed Lifestyle (Karinga Bay). Many of you will know Kate, who is a valuable member of the excellent Goldford Stud team and is a familiar face at the sales. We send the Ford family our congratulations on their lovely youngster and wish them luck for his intended appearance at the foal sales.
The overall champion has earlier won the first class of the day for older colts, in which the runner-up was also by Kayf Tara and bred by Richard and Lizzie Kelvin Hughes from the Listed-winning hurdler My Petra (Midnight Legend).
Mary Morrison’s Kayf Tara filly out of Flirtatious (Generous) was third in the older fillies’ class, while Tom Symonds’ Kayf Tara colt out of Hot Rhythm (Haafhd) was also in the ribbons when fourth in the class for younger colts.
Overbury Stud was again delighted to support the show and would like to thank the TBA, Goffs UK, the British EBF, Bangor racecourse and all the organisers for their valuable time and effort into making the day a really worthwhile showcase of the very best the British National Hunt breeding world has to offer. See you all again at Bangor next year!
