Progressive Cityscape gelding lands his second win.
Ballymount, who became Cityscape’s first winner on 4 June, has won again in France, landing the 1400m Prix Isabelle Desmarais (Class 2) at La Teste de Buch on Wednesday.
Trained by Eoghan O’Neill for his wife Melissa, Ballymount has proved to be a consistent juvenile, finishing fourth on debut and recording another two third-place finishes between his two victories. His efforts to date have earned his owner more than €30,000 in prize-money.
Bred in Britain by Mrs Booth and John Porteous, the son of the Amadeus Wolf mare Sympathy Star was bought by his trainer at Tattersalls Ireland’s September Yearling Sale for €14,000.
Cityscape has also been represented recently by a number of placed runners, including Nicholas Jones’s eye-catching filly Give And Take, who ran on strongly from the back of the pack to finish second in an Ascot maiden on debut behind Jousi, who runs in Saturday’s G3 Sweet Solera Stakes.
