A selection of foals from Cityscape’s first crop are currently going under the hammer at Tattersalls, and they were led on Tuesday by an athletic filly out of Firebelly, who is owned in partnership by Overbury Stud and Dukes Stud.
The bay filly – a half-sister to the G3 Hackwood Stakes runner-up Firebeam – caused an early flurry of interest in the sales ring, with successful pinhooker and agent Liam Norris eventually outbidding Matthew Houldsworth at 30,000gns.
“She’s a strong and elegant filly with a good stride who really caught my eye,” commented Norris.
“I like the stallion – he was a tough and talented racehorse – and I’m really pleased to have bought this filly for a client who plans to reoffer her for sale next year.”
There are three more Cityscape weanlings to be sold at Tattersalls on Saturday, including Chasemore Farm’s filly out of the Listed-placed Shawhill (lot 1307).
