The Broghie Man makes it two stakes winners in two days for Cityscape.
Twenty-four hours after Dan’s Dream won the G3 Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury, it was the turn of Cityscape’s The Broghie Man to win at stakes level when beating a classy field to land the Listed Committed Stakes at Navan.
Bred By Whitsbury Manor Stud from the unraced Dutch Art mare Suelita, The Broghie Man won at two and was also placed in the Listed Prix Yacowlef at Chantilly last year.
For his seasonal debut he was pitched in against last year’s G1 Phoenix Stakes winner Sioux Nation and G1 Middle Park Stakes runner-up Fleet Review as well as the G3 Albany Stakes winner Different League, who was making her debut for Aidan O’Brien. Given a positive ride by Gerard Mosse, the Adrian Keatley-trained gelding was in a handy position throughout before taking up the running a furlong from home to win from Speak In Colours.
Keatley now has the G1 Commonwealth Cup in his sights for The Broghie Man, who will step up next to Group 3 company.
From just 26 first-crop starters, Cityscape now has two stakes winners and another two stakes performers. His exciting daughter Give And Take holds an entry for the Oaks and could be seen on Friday at Sandown, where she is slated to make her seasonal resumption.
